If you’ve always wanted a foosball table but don’t have a lot of room to spare, a folding foosball table is a great option. They’re easy to store when you’re not using them and you can even find some models that are standard sized. Plus, there’s actually a lot of variety out there.
When searching for the best foosball table, we considered a few different features. First, we looked for options with different uses and purposes and found a variety of tables suitable for outdoor use, as well as products for kids and adults. Some of these tables are standard sized while others are scaled down a bit to help you make the best use of your available space. Build quality is important, too. Folding these tables up for storage can cause additional wear and tear so it’s essential that they’re well made with quality materials. Finally, we considered personal preferences like whether the rods are solid or telescoping or the players are counterbalanced or not.
We spent hours looking through product specs, expert reviews, and questions and comments from the people who use these foosball tables in their homes every day. First, you’ll find a table where you can see all of our choices side by side for easy comparison. Next, you’ll come to detailed reviews of each product followed by an in-depth buying guide to help you find the best folding foosball table for your home.
Ok, here we have the KICK Majesty foosball table, and it’s our first folding table on the list. There are a lot of positive things to say about this foosball table and it’s going to be a great choice for anyone that wants to use space for more than one single activity. This table has a nicely designed mechanism that makes folding the table easy for one person which is an extremely handy and practical touch.
The most notable thing about the KICK Majesty is that the company founder is a foosball enthusiast of many years. That will not only go a long way in terms of credibility for a lot of buyers, it also suggests that some insight went into the design and build of this model – and that can only be a good thing.
The leveling system looks really nice here, and this table is a very good weight which strikes a good balance between gameplay and folding. You get two sets of men here too – one counterbalanced set and one uniformed set – which again is a nice design touch and shows that some thought went into this. All reports are that the build quality is good. The only disappointing thing with the KICK Majesty is that the rods are of semi-solid construction. This seems like an odd move for an ex-professional foosball player to make, and it’s a design choice that will have a lot of hardcore players scratching their heads.
Out next pick is the Hathaway Gladiator, a full-sized foosball table with folding legs that’s easy to store when you have limited space. The legs are composed of stable MDF that’s been coated with melamine for extra durability. They’re stable and sturdy during gameplay and folding them for storage is nice and simple, too.
The high-stress hollow steel bars are extra thick so they won’t bend. They’re also coated with anti-rust chromium-plating for added protection. One of the cool things about this table is that you can choose to have it equipped with telescoping safety rods. This makes it a good choice for households with kids because the rods don’t project from the opposite side during gameplay.
Because the bars are fixed to the cabinet using steel roller bearings, the rods move smoothly, reducing the stress on players’ hands and wrists and improving the speed of the game. The stylized players are molded directly to the bars so they won’t slide around or move from their positions. To round out your team, you can choose from a fully rotating or non-rotating goalkeeper.
This table also features a laminated green field with white markings, 10 standard balls, easy ball recovery, and cube score counters. Assembly is pretty simple, you just have to attach the legs and rods. Overall, users had very few complaints about this table.
What we liked:
Easy to fold and store
Can choose from telescoping or solid rods
Steel roller bearings increase the speed of the game
Choose from fully rotating or non-rotating goalkeeper
If you’re looking for the best folding foosball table for outdoors, check out the Garlando Open Air. The green playing surface is made of water-resistant laminate with bright white, silk-screened lines. The specially designed ink won’t fade in the sun and can withstand the humidity of summers outdoors.
This Garlando foosball table is made using a high-tech plastic compound that’s been reinforced with fiberglass. The legs quickly fold under the table using two easy-to-operate handles and each leg panel features fretwork that enhances the stability of the table without adding unnecessary weight.
The high-stress resistance bars are made or hollow steel and coated with three layers of anti-rust chromium-plating which protects them against rust and corrosion. You can choose whether you want solid rods or telescoping ones. The anti-rust steel roller bearings used to fix the rods to the table ensure smooth, fast gameplay that’s comfortable for your hands and wrists. Plus, all the bolts, nuts, and screws have tropical anti-rust protection.
The stylized human players are molded to the bars and won’t move or slide out of place. You can also choose whether you want a rotating or non-rotating goalie. This table comes with 10 standard balls and easy-to-use color coordinated abacus scorers in front of each goal.
Users generally didn’t have many complaints about this table except to say that it’s very heavy. At 180 pounds, you’ll definitely need some help doing the heavy lifting.
The KICK Monarch foosball table is slightly smaller than a standard table, which makes it a great pick for small spaces and an ideal size for kids. The legs fold down and so it’s small enough to be stored in multiple ways.
This table has a wood grain finish and black legs which give it a clean, modern look. That’s not all; it also has sturdy leg levelers so you can get a flat surface even when the ground you’re playing on isn’t.
It includes a set of players with blue and yellow teams as well as your choice of a one or three-man goalie setup. The semi-solid stainless steel rods are chrome plated for extra durability and feature no-slip grip black handles with safety caps. There are a convenient slide scoring system and ball return at the end of each table, too.
All KICK tables are covered with a lifetime warranty and they have a reputation for excellent customer service so if you ever have a problem, just give them a call and they should take care of it.
While this table does fold up, it’s not exactly an easy process. You have to remove a few screws which isn’t a huge problem but is inconvenient. Assembly can take a few hours and the instructions are a little unclear.
What we liked:
Small size is good for kids
Integrated leg levelers
Choice of 1 or 3-man goalie setup
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service
What could be better:
Difficult to fold
Assembly can take a few hours, and the instructions are unclear
There’s a lot to love about the Funmall 4-in-1 table. It’s the perfect size for small spaces and a great choice for kids. The foldable leg design is easy to store, and assembly is really quick and easy, too. All you need is a screwdriver.
The best thing about this table is that it’s actually four games in one. In addition to foosball, you can also play table tennis, billiards, and table hockey. Converting from one game to another is pretty easy, too, just swap out one tabletop for another.
You also get everything you need to play all four games including cue sticks, chalk, and billiard balls, 18 foosball players with eight balls, two table tennis rackets with two balls, and two hockey pucks and strikers.
Some users had a bit of trouble with assembly and found that some of the holes didn’t line up properly. Another thing that a lot of people pointed out is that, although this table does come with four different table tops, this isn’t an air hockey table. There’s no motor to produce air and it can take a bit of effort to get the puck to slide over the surface.
Keep in mind that this is a kids’ table. It’s 32 inches high which is a little short for adults to play comfortably but the perfect height for your little ones.
What we liked:
Four games in one: table hockey, table tennis, billiards, and foosball
Accessories for all 4 games included
Easy to convert from one game to another
Great for kids
What could be better:
Assembly can be difficult
Not an air hockey table since no motor or fans are included
Size is a little too small for adults
Things to Consider
There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to choosing the right folding foosball table. Let’s take a closer look at the most important things to keep in mind when deciding which table is the right one for you.
Why a folding foosball table is a good choice?
A folding foosball table is a great choice for anyone who loves to play foosball but doesn’t have the space to keep a foosball table set up all the time. You can set the game up when it’s time to play and fold it out of the way when you need the space for something else.
Where do you intend to place a foosball table?
One of the first things for you to decide is where you want to use your foosball table. Typically, these tables are set up in a game room, living room, or den but some, like the Garlando Open Air, are made to be used outdoors. Outdoor foosball tables should be water resistant and have hardware that’s been treated so that it won’t rust or corrode when exposed to the elements. If you’re planning to use your table outdoors, it’s also important that the paint won’t fade or peel in the sun or get damaged from the humidity.
If you’re opting to use your table inside and plan to move it from room to room, wheels are a good feature to look for. These tables can be hard to move because they can be quite heavy. Wheels make the process a whole lot easier.
How much space do you need for a foosball table?
It depends on the table. These tables come in a range of sizes. Standard sized tables, like the KICK Majesty, take up more room than smaller tables, like the KICK Monarch. All of these tables take up a decent amount of space, though, so make sure you check the dimensions carefully.
Another thing to consider is you should leave about three feet on each side of the table to give players enough room to move around and allow the rods to move in and out as needed. As you can see, these tables end up taking up quite a bit of space which is all the more reason why getting a folding table that you can store easily is a good idea.
Does foosball table weight matter?
The weight matters for a couple of reasons. First, a heavier table is more stable, which is important for a game like this. The rods move in and out as you play and it’s really easy to bump into the table during a game. A heavy, stable table is much less likely to move back and forth or wobble which makes it more fun to play the game.
If you choose a heavy table, make sure you have help when it comes time for assembly. You’ll most likely need help to get it up and down stairs and during assembly.
Playing rods and handles
There are a few options when it comes to playing rods and handles. Some are hollow while others are solid. Solid rods are usually a little more durable but they’re much heavier. Hollow rods typically give you more speed and are what you’ll find on high-end foosball tables.
Handle grips are important, too. Comfortable grips are important so that you have the best possible control over your foosball men during the game. Look for something that’s durable, too, to get as much use out of them as possible. A few of these tables give you a choice between solid rods or telescoping rods. Telescoping rods are great for homes with small children. Rather than having the rod poke all the way through the other side of the table during play, telescoping rods collapse into themselves which means it’s less likely that someone will get accidentally poked by a rod coming through the other side.
Foosball men and goalie configuration
A few of these tables come with two different sets of players, a standard uniform set and a counterbalanced set. Counterbalanced players have an equal amount of weight in the head and feet. They’re a little easier to control and add some speed to your shots since there’s more weight behind the ball.
Most of these tables come with regular players. Because they don’t have the added weight, they’re a little more difficult to control. That said, since both sides are using the same type of foosball men, it’s still a fair playing field.
Another option is with the goalie configuration. A lot of tables have a single goalie while others give you the option to have three. The advantage to having three goalies is pretty obvious – it’s easier to block your opponent’s shots when you have three players to help you do it.
Foosball table setting up
Assembly and set up vary from table to table. Some might take a few hours while others are much faster. As we mentioned, some of these tables are quite heavy so make sure you have an extra set of hands during set up and assembly.
There are also tables that include more than one game, like the Funmall 4-in-1 table. It comes with different tabletops that switch out so you can play multiple games. Generally, this is pretty easy to do but you may need some help swapping everything over to the next game.
Telescoping rods collapse into themselves as you push them to move your players across the table whereas non-telescopic rods actually move all the way through the table and protrude out the other side. The biggest benefit to using telescoping rods is that they’re safer. There’s less risk of the rod poking through the other side and bumping into someone.
Hollow rods are much lighter than solid rods and move much faster. Solid rods slow down the game quite a bit since they don’t move as quickly and take a little more effort from the player to move them back and forth.
It depends on the table. Some of them have easy-to-use handles that make it pretty easy to fold them while others require you to removes screws or clips before collapsing the table. Generally, it’s a one-man job but you may want to have someone available to help you since some of these tables are pretty heavy.
Wrapping It Up
Our Editor’s Pick is the KICK Majesty which is loaded with awesome features and would make a great addition to any game room. This is a full-sized folding table that includes two different sets of player, four balls, and a sturdy build that’s covered by a lifetime warranty.
Another great choice is the Hathaway Gladiator, a stable and durable table that’s designed for smooth, fast gameplay. You can get telescoping poles if you prefer and you can choose between a rotating or non-rotating goalkeeper. Assembly is pretty easy and users generally have no complaints about this table.
Finally, we recommend the Garlando Open Air foosball table. What’s special about this one is it can safely be used outdoors. The playing surface is water resistant and the paint won’t fade or chip in the sun or humidity. You can choose telescoping rods if you prefer and all of the hardware is treated with anti-rust protection.
