You might think that all foosball tables are made the same, but you would be completely wrong. For instance, a company like Rene Pierre has a long tradition of providing excellent tables compared to many other companies. Of course, this high level of quality makes finding the best Rene Pierre Foosball Table a bit trickier.
The most important factor in choosing one of these tables is finding the one that has a design that you like, which is why we looked at so many of the company’s models. From there, you can choose different features that appeal to your playing style and where you want to use the table. You will have to decide if you need a coin-operated table for a business or a regular one just for playing at home. You can also choose from all-weather tables that can be used outside, which is a big consideration if you want it for your deck or patio. We’ve also included a table with female players, which is hard to find among other brands. If you want to make sure that that you have the best of the best when it comes to foosball tables, then read on!
The Competition table has a large playing area and a robust design. It is the heaviest of amongst the tables we reviewed, making it the most durable. It also comes equipped with 26 players, with 1 goalie for each team. This table features a built-in abacus scorekeeper as well.
What we liked: Of all the different Rene Pierre models that we looked into, this is by far the best one. For starters, it is extremely durable. It is built with natural beech wood, which provides it with a very dense and heavy cabinet. If you are looking for a foosball table that will last for a good long time, then this is the model for you.
This model also features a very large playing surface, which makes it a great option for experienced players. With this larger playing surface, you will be able to set up more plays and utilize all of the strategies that are usually found in European style foosball games. The rods and players are also, as you would expect, very well-made. They are hand-painted cast metal, which means that they will stand the test of time.
What could be better: This is an excellent foosball table. The only real issue that we have with it is that it is excessively heavy. When fully assembled, this table weighs in at 210 pounds. While this makes it very sturdy and durable, it will make it hard to move and could be very hard to get into the right position. You need to make sure that you have help to both assemble and position this table.
The playing surface for the Elles is a bit smaller than their other tables, which gives this a more compact feel. The 26 players are female rather than male. This table is also much lighter than many other Pierre Rene foosball tables
What we liked: There is a lot to like about this table, which is the only one that has female players. If you have a soccer-loving girl in your life, odds are that she would love to have a table where she is represented. The hand-painted players are very durable, making this a great option for anyone who expects to play a lot with their new table.
This is also a much smaller table than most other Rene Pierre tables. It has a smaller playing surface, which is good for younger players. This table is also quite light, weighing in at only 145 pounds. While this is still enough to hold the table in place, it is also light enough to be moved into position more easily. You should probably still wait for a friend to help you move it, but it shouldn’t be as difficult as it is with other tables on our list.
What could be better: This is a very compact table. As such, it has a smaller playing area than many other foosball tables. This could change how you have to play the game, which might make it more difficult for even experienced players to play in their normal style. The smaller playing surface also means that there is less time to react to plays, which might lead to more scoring.
The Pro is built for commercial use. It is coin-operated, which lends itself to use in bars or arcades. This is a very heavy-duty foosball table with a large playing surface. There are 13 red and 13 blue players that hare hand painted. Each team has one goalie each.
What we liked: If you are someone that runs a business and is looking to add a foosball table to your establishment, then this is the model for you. It has a built-in coin operation system. This makes it perfect for anyone looking to make a bit of money with their foosball table since it will allow you to make it so that anyone who wants to play has to pay.
This table also has an integrated abacus scoring system. Since this is probably going to be played by someone that is paying, you want them to be able to keep track of their score accurately. This sliding point scale works perfectly in this regard. The heavy-duty design of this table also makes it a perfect model to use in a heavy traffic setting like a bar or an arcade.
What could be better: The biggest issue that anyone will probably have with this model, which is otherwise excellent, is that it is only designed to be used in a commercial setting. Since this table is coin-operated, it isn’t really something that you would want to use in your home. This feature also makes it more expensive than a non-coin-operated table, which limits its market to only those seeking a table for their place of business.
The Color Blanc is built with safety in mind, which makes it more accessible for amateurs or younger players. It has dampening springs built into the rods, which stop them from traveling through too quickly. It has 13 silver and 13 black players. Each team features 1 goalie.
What we liked: The best feature for this table has got to be its dampening springs on its rods. These springs keep the rods from traveling too far over, which makes it a whole lot safer for both players. There is very little chance of the rods be thrust out and striking the player on the opposite side thanks to these rods, which helps to make this a great table for beginners and younger players as well.
The wooden legs on this table add an extra layer of durability and stability to its feel. They are a bit thicker and angled out more than most other tables. This makes them extremely sturdy and also helps to support the table and limit shaking during more strenuous games.
Something else that really helps to set this model apart from its counterparts is its players. Usually, foosball teams are painted red and blue. This set, however, is black and grey, which gives them a more modern look and feel.
What could be better: Though the dampening springs make this a safer model for new players, it does limit the mobility of the rods. This might make it trickier for you to pull off strategic tips, banks, and hits since the rods move a bit more slowly than those on a standard foosball table.
The Tahiti is Rene Pierre’s outdoor model. It is made with eco-friendly materials that are completely weatherproof. It is relatively lightweight for a foosball table and features 26 players with 1 goalie for each team. The teams are colored red and blue.
What we liked: Most times, when folks think about foosball tables, they think about playing them inside, whether that be in an arcade, bar, or home. This table, however, is designed to be used outside. It is made out of completely weatherproof materials that have been recycled from old plastics. This makes it both durable and perfect to be used on a back deck, patio, or in the yard.
This table also has a very large playing area. Even though it is not quite as heavy, due to its materials, as other larger tables, it still has a large playing surface. This makes it perfect for experienced players who like to utilize extra space to set up more complicated plays and maneuvers against their opponents.
What could be better: Even though this model is designed to be used outdoors, it will not stand up to the weather if you don’t take care of it. This is especially true if it gets rained on. You need to make sure that you regularly wipe it down and clean it off. Otherwise, there could be a great deal of staining, which would make the table much less appealing to play on.
The Leader is a value-based model from Rene Pierre that is still a high-quality table. It has a smaller build than some of their others, which makes it less durable. The legs are thinner as well. This table features 26 players, with 13 red and 13 blue. Each team has one goalie each.
What we liked: This is a great model if you are looking to get a good foosball table from a reputable company without paying a premium price. This model is meant to be a bit cheaper than other Rene Pierre models, which makes it more accessible for more buyers. The materials are not quite as thick or durable as on other tables, but this serves to make it a bit lighter, which, in turn, makes it easier to move from place to place.
Even though this table is priced to sell, it is still quite large. The playing surface is big enough to make any experienced player comfortable, while also providing the right amount of space for a beginner to get the hang of playing the game the right way. The linoleum surface is also great for friction-free play, making the games fast and exciting.
What could be better: Though this is a well-made table, it is not quite as sturdy as the others on our list. This is mostly due to the legs. They are a bit thinner than we would like them to be, which makes them more prone to wobbling during a strenuous game. Of course, this is a small sacrifice to make in order to get an overall wonderful table at a fraction of the cost of the heavier-duty models.
Things to Consider
There are lots of different factors that you need to consider when you are looking at getting a new foosball table. In this section, we will guide you through all of these important components and answer several frequently asked questions as well.
Why Rene Pierre?
When you buy a Rene Pierre foosball table, you can rest assured that you are buying a product that has been manufactured to the highest standards imaginable. This company has been in business since the 1950s and has never strayed from their vision of designing and crafting high-quality foosball tables. They started by making their tables for professionals and arcades and later began to make them for home use when demand increased.
These tables are designed to be used in the European style of play. This style involves much more finesse and control than its American counterparts. Due to these exacting standards of play, Rene Pierre tables are made with the best materials possible, and the company has never produced a substandard model. As such, all of the tables made by this company can be counted on to last for years and years’ worth of enjoyment.
Features to consider when choosing a Rene Pierre foosball table
When it comes to finding the best Rene Pierre foosball table, there are a lot of features to consider. In this section, we will take you through each of these factors in great detail so that you can make an informed decision and find the right table for your needs.
Dimensions and weight
One of the first things that you will want to figure out is how large of a table you want. If, for instance, you have a smaller space, then it might be a better idea to go for a table with smaller dimensions, like the René Pierre Elles. On the other hand, if size and weight are not a concern for you, then the René Pierre Competition might be the right option. This table’s extra weight and larger than average dimensions make it great for competitive play.
Something else to keep in mind with this style of foosball table is that, due to it being a European styled model, there is only going to be one goalie for each team. This is quite different from American models, which utilize three goalies. Most tables have this single goalie positioned in the middle of the rod, though some, such as the René Pierre Leader, have them to one side so as to allow you to cover your goal a bit more easily.
One of the best things about getting a Rene Pierre foosball table are the players. These players are made to stand the test of time. Each one is beautifully crafted from die-cast metal. The two teams are painted two different colors to easily differentiate between them. They are most commonly blue and red, though some, like those on the René Pierre Color Blanc, are black and silver. If you want female players, then the René Pierre Elles is a good option, as all the others come with male players only.
Rods and handles
The rods on each of the models we reviewed all came with the same standard materials and were made to the same high-quality standards as everything else on these tables. The rods are made with chrome-plated steel, which makes them both durable and very clean looking. The handles are fashioned out of plastic to an ergonomic and easy to utilize shape, making them very comfortable.
The playing surface for each of these tables is made from the same extremely smooth linoleum. This allows the ball to travel freely without any hang-ups. The surface is also sloped in all the corners so that the ball cannot become trapped there and halt play. Most tables come with a slightly green surface, though others, like the René Pierre Tahiti, have a surface that matches the cabinet.
Legs and leg levelers
The legs on the René Pierre Competition are the heaviest duty that we found, which is not very surprising since this is the most durable of all the tables we looked into. This table is also equipped with built-in levelers to make sure that the table sits correctly. This feature is, thankfully, standard on all of the other tables as well.
Whenever you are making such a big purchase, it is always a good idea to look for a great warranty to protect your purchase. Thankfully, as we have mentioned many times before, Rene Pierre is a great company that will stand behind their products. Should something fail through normal use, you can rest assured that they will make good on it, which is always a welcome offering from any company.
The detailed assembly instructions will help to make assembling your new foosball table quick and easy. It is, however, a good idea to have a friend help you, since all of these tables weight over 100 pounds when assembled, with some even pushing past 200 pounds. While you certainly might be able to do this alone, it would be much safer, not mention easier, if you had someone to help you.
While all of these tables could be used outdoors for a short period of time without any negative effects, the René Pierre Tahiti is the only one that is designed to be kept outside. It is made with weatherproof materials that will keep it from breaking down due to the elements.
Each of the tables above come equipped with one set of balls. If these are lost, however, you can purchase new ones separately. You shouldn’t have to worry about the balls breaking on you, even if you play games on the table often. They are made to last and are designed to withstand hours of playing before they need to be replaced.
Wrapping It Up
Of all the different Rene Pierre foosball tables that we reviewed, the Competition is by far the best overall. It is extremely durable and also, unsurprisingly, very well-made. The playing surface is nice and large, making it accessible for any players. We highly recommend that you check this model out!
The Rene Pierre Elles is a great table if you are searching for a more compact foosball table. This model is smaller and lighter than its counterparts, which makes it a great option for anyone with a smaller rec room. The players are also female, making it an excellent option for anyone that loves women’s soccer.
If the best Rene Pierre Foosball table for you is on that can be used in a bar or arcade, then their Pro model is the way to go. This table has an integrated coin-operation system, which will only allow players to play if they pay. The abacus scoring method is another nice touch, as well.
